UDOT will resurface approximately seven miles of S.R. 30 from U.S. Highway 89 in Garden City to the rest area north of Laketown. In addition, crews will resurface the rest area and upgrade pedestrian ramps and sections of curb, gutter and guardrail. Work is scheduled during daytime hours beginning as early as Monday, April 18, and will continue through early July. This project will provide a smoother ride for drivers and prolong the life of this key stretch of highway.
WHAT TO EXPECT
S.R. 30 will be reduced to one lane in two mile increments between U.S. 89 and the rest area. This restriction will be in place Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and weekends as needed. The travel lane will be 11 feet wide with flaggers directing traffic through the work zone. Drivers should plan ahead for delays of up to 15 minutes. Access to side streets and businesses may be temporarily restricted as paving equipment passes, and noise, dust and vibration can be expected as crews work. Beach-goers should park in designated areas along S.R. 30: Parking regulations will be enforced in the work zone.
