Bear Lake conditions, 1/11/2016:

Approximate Lake Temperature: 32.0 degrees as measured in the Bear Lake State Park Marina. Ice has formed in the marina. The main channel de-icers are on and are keeping the majority of the channel open. The launch ramp has been plowed. Unfortunately there is a large flat of ice blocking the marina from the lake side.

Boat Launch Ramps: The Rainbow Cove launch ramp is currently free of ice and has been plowed. The Cisco Beach launch ramp is currently free of ice, but we are not able to plow rocky shoreline to get to it. The First Point launch ramp is currently blocked by ice. The photos show the lake and marina as of this afternoon.

Ice is forming on the lake. The lake is @ 60% covered in ice. Please be careful if you take a boat on the lake. Use caution when going out onto the ice – the thickness may be hard to determine.

Current Lake Elevation: 5911.4′. Full elevation is 5923.65′.
The 2015 high point was 5914.45′. The low point for 2015 was 5911.15′.

Air Temperatures: This past week, daytime high temperatures ranged from the teens to the low 30’s. The nighttime low temperatures have ranged from near 0 to the mid teens.
